Welcome to Student Housing Finder PTY LTD. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Student Housing Finder website and services (the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About Student Housing Finder PTY LTD
Student Housing Finder PTY LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an online platform that connects students looking for accommodation with property owners and managers offering housing. We do not own, manage, or operate any of the properties listed on the Platform.
Our business is registered in Australia and governed by Australian law.
2. Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or have parental or guardian consent).
- If you are a property owner or manager, have the legal right to lease, rent, or manage the property you list. By using the Platform, you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
To list or apply for properties, users must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
You must provide accurate, current information and keep it updated. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms.
4. Property Listings
Property Owners and Managers are fully responsible for the accuracy, legality, and content of their listings.
You agree that:
- All property details, photos, and descriptions are truthful and accurate.
- You hold all rights and approvals to lease or advertise the property.
- You will comply with all relevant Australian laws, including tenancy, anti-discrimination, and consumer protection laws.
We reserve the right to edit, suspend, or remove any listing that we believe breaches these Terms or is inappropriate.
5. Student Applications
Students can enquire about or apply for properties directly through the Platform.
Applications are sent to the Property Owner or Manager, who is solely responsible for reviewing and responding.
Student Housing Finder PTY LTD does not act as a real estate agent and is not a party to any rental agreement or transaction between users.
All users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of information before entering into any agreement.
6. Payments and Fees
Listing a property on the Platform is subject to the following fees:
- Standard Listing: $10 per month + $3 per bedroom.
- Featured Listing (optional): additional monthly fee for increased visibility.
Fees are charged in Australian Dollars (AUD) and billed monthly unless stated otherwise.
All payments are non-refundable, but you may cancel your listing at any time.
We may update pricing from time to time and will provide reasonable notice before changes take effect.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Post misleading, false, or discriminatory content.
Impersonate another person or business.
Use the Platform for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
Harvest or misuse personal data from other users.
Damage, disrupt, or attempt to hack the Platform.
Any such actions may result in immediate account termination and legal action.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, graphics, and design on Student Housing Finder PTY LTD are owned or licensed by us.
Users retain ownership of their listings but grant us a non-exclusive licence to use, display, and promote that content on the Platform and related marketing channels.
You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce any part of our Platform without prior written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Student Housing Finder PTY LTD and its directors, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from:
Inaccurate or misleading listings.
Disputes between students and property owners.
Any failure of a student or owner to meet their obligations.
Use or inability to use the Platform.
We provide the Platform “as is” and make no warranties or guarantees about outcomes, availability, or user behaviour.
10. Disclaimers
Student Housing Finder:
Is not a real estate agent, property manager, or landlord.
Does not vet, verify, or guarantee the identity, background, or eligibility of users.
Is not a party to any rental, lease, or financial agreement between users.
All interactions and agreements are made at your own discretion and risk.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, or engage in behaviour we deem harmful.
You may close your account at any time.
12. Third-Party Links
Our Platform may include links to external websites, such as universities, TAFEs, or real estate services.
These links are provided for convenience only. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites.
13. Advertising and Sponsorship
The Platform may display advertisements or sponsored content.
Advertisers are responsible for ensuring their materials comply with Australian law.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from advertisements or promotional materials.
14. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
By using the Platform, you consent to this collection and handling of your information.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will take effect when published on the website.
